Sara Serves: Spring

Trees are budding. Sun is shining. Flowers are blooming. Budgets…well, budgets are in process. If you’re like me, you have rebalanced your General Fund a dozen times for “just one last thing…”

If you have an election this year, people are getting out their clipboards for signatures, and the campaign machinery is beginning to hum. It is spring in Virginia.

Maybe take a little time to look at your community through the lens of the Garden Club’s flowers, the parks your crews lovingly maintain, and the joy of children playing during a surprise warm day.

Guaranteed, there will be budget issues. There will be extra “fun” during the election season. And we haven’t even begun to process the results of the General Assembly session. But for now, for today, touch some grass and see how lovely your community is.

It’s Spring, and I hope you all have time to focus on what matters most: your community, your faith tradition, and your family.

Peace and joy to all of you!

Sara
