Certificate News May 2026

Spring semester is in full swing at Virginia Tech!  We are offering two classes this semester and thank you to Nichole Hair, Economic Development at Radford University, Kathleen Guzi, VACORP, Scott Davis, Town of Farmville, and Doug Stanley, Prince Edward County for preparing the next generation of local government leaders and managers. 

We will start summer courses the week of May 25th and look forward to two classes this summer.  The deadline to apply for the Fall semester is August 1.  We will be presenting at the VLGMA Summer Conference on a newly revamped Economic Development Planning course and our newly revamped Graduate Certificate in Economic Development.  Take a few minutes to join the session to learn new course offerings from Virginia Tech’s School of Public and International Affairs.

We are looking for webinar speakers for the Fall ICMA Student Chapter events.  If you are interested in presenting on a particular topic of interest to the next generation of local government managers and leaders, please reach out! Sddavis@vt.edu.
